Many of the main characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion return, such as Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami (as Shinji's love interest), Kaworu Nagisa (displaying some feelings for Shinji), Asuka Langley Soryu, Toji Suzuhara, Misato Katsuragi (as Shinji's teacher, as in Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days), and Kensuke Aida.
