Description:

CITY manga features story and art by Keiichi Arawi the creator of Nichijou. Midori is in a bit of a bind. She is in debt, and her landlady is trying to shake her down for unpaid rent. Her best friend refuses to loan her cash since she’s wised up to her tricks. Maybe some bullying would help. Or a bit of petty theft? Neither is sustainable. Maybe getting a job would settle things … But working means less time for fun adventures in the big city... (Source: Kodansha USA) Note: Originally finished on 2021-02-24 with 13 volumes. Additional serialization was resumed on 2024-12-11, in support of the upcoming anime. The new publication was completed on October 15, 2025, with 23 chapters and two new volumes. The chapter count includes chapters 23.5, 49.5, and 53.5.

Nichijou

(Nichijou)

8.16

Description:

While the title suggests a story of simple, everyday school life, the contents are more the opposite. The setting is a strange school where you may see the principal wrestle a deer or a robot's arm hide a rollcake. However there are still normal stories, like making a card castle or taking a test you didn't study for. The art style is cute but mixes with extreme expressions and action sequences for surprising comedy bits. Note: Chapter count includes 192 regular and 18 extra chapters.

Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru

(Yet the Town Keeps Going)

7.86

Description:

Clumsy Arashiyama is a girl with a love for mysteries and a knack for getting into trouble. She works for an old lady’s lackluster maid café in a small shopping district. The cafe is largely unsuccessful in attracting customers aside from Sanada, a regular and one of Arashiyama's classmates (who has a secret crush on her). One day Arashiyama’s clever friend Tatsuno is invited to the café, and, upon seeing the miserable state of things (and Sanada, whom she has a secret crush on), decides to work there. Don’t miss the crazy antics of Arashiyama and friends, mismatched love stories, and all the hilarity that is created as a result, in Sore Machi. (Source: MU)

Helvetica Standard

(Helvetica Standard)

7.24

Description:

The follow-up to the hit manga series Nichijou (and heavily referenced in the artwork of that series), Helvetica Standard is a full-color anthology of Keiichi Arawi's comic art and design work. Funny and heartwarming, this two-part series is a humorous look at modern day Japanese design in comic form and a deep-dive into the artistic and creative mind of Keiichi Arawi. Part comic, part diary, part art and design book, Helvetica Standard is a deconstruction of the world of Nichijou. (Source: Vertical Inc.)
